Should You Fill Out a Health Questionnaire Before Viewing a House?
Did you know that real estate agents are now required to ask for a COVID-19 health questionnaire before someone could see a house in person? It is crazy but this is what we need to do in addition to all other safety measure to keep everyone healthy and safe.
So, what type of questions can you expect on this questionnaire?
The questionnaire is short and pretty simple, and consists of three questions similar to the following:
1 - Have you or any member of your household traveled outside of Massachusetts in the last 14 days? Yes or No
2 - Have you or any member of your household been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days? Yes or No
3 - Have you or any member of your household experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days? Yes or No
If the answer is "Yes" to any of the questions, the buyers would be restricted to virtual showings and would have to delay an in-person visit to the property.
Who is required to provide the questionnaire and when?
Initially, the questionnaire was only required for the buyers who wanted to view a property but, as things progress, it is now required for everyone: Sellers, Buyers, and their agents. Questionnaire is only valid for 24 hours and ideally should be filled out and signed the day of the showing.
